Prabhudeva in action at the at the red carpet of the People's Choice awards.
With films like Wanted (2009) and Rowdy Rathore, Prabhudheva has created a niche for himself in the Hindi film industry. And now, with Remo D’Souza’s next directorial venture, ABCD – Any Body Can Dance, the actor, who plays the central character in the film, will speak his own dialogues for the
first time in a Bollywood film.
A source close to the film reveals, “Previously, whenever Prabhu made an appearance, his voice was always dubbed by anothe artiste. And in the recent past, he has only directed films. So this is the first time he’s playing a hero in a Hindi movie.”
The source further adds that it came as a shock to everybody when Prabhu decided to say all the dialogues himself.
He says, “Prabhu knows Hindi, but isn’t very well versed with it. Also, he has a strong south Indian accent. He was hesitant about doing this in the past, because of the same reason. But this time, he went ahead without inhibitions.”
When contacted, Rucha Pathak, senior creative director (studios), Disney UTV confirmed the news saying, “Yes, there is no dubbing for Prabhu in this film. He plays the character of a dance teacher from Chennai who battles all odds and dazzles the world with his vision, dance and philosophy. So his voice only adds to the USP of the film.”
ABCD – Any Body Can Dance, which is produced by UTV Motion Pictures, will release in February next year.
