Priyanka Chopra has a big fan following across the country, but even she wouldn’t have expected the kind of frenzy she witnessed in the interiors of West Bengal recently.

The actor, who is shooting in Durgapur for her upcoming film, Gunday, was in for a surprise when she decided to visit a bookstore at a local mall. A huge crowd gathered to get a glimpse of her. However, before the situation could become unruly, the police was called to escort her out.

The actor, who is a book lover, visited the store with only one of her bodyguards. “Priyanka had some free time, and wanted to buy some new books. She never imagined that she would get mobbed, so she was accompanied by only one bodyguard. Though she made a hush-hush trip to the store, the information leaked out,” says a source close to the actor.

Throngs of fans gathered around the store and blocked the entrance. Soon, it became almost impossible for the actor to step out of the mall. “The police were called in to escort her out eventually,” adds the source.
