Several theaters in places like Ludhiana, Moga, Jalandhar, Bathinda, Amritsar and Moga cancelled the film's screenings after Bhartiya Valmiki Dharam Samaj (BVDS) complained that certain dialogues in the film offended their community.
Three item numbers by different actresses and John Abraham in an all new avatar are just some of the things Shootout At Wadala offers. As the hype and anticipation about the film rises to a peak, here's a sneak peek into the film itself.
Talking about the issue, Laxman Dravid, National
Director of BVDS, said that they have sent legal notices to Ekta Kapoor and Sanjay Gupta (the producer and the director of Shootout At Wadala).
Dravid added that the film's makers should have thought twice before saying anything against Valmikiji. Echoing his sentiments, Deepak Hans (President of Dr Ambedkar Ekta Mission) said that the two objectionable dialogues in the film are Har Chor Valmiki Nahi Hota and Eklavya Ne Angutha Dia Tha, Main Poora Haath De Dunga. He assured that once these lines are censored, then they will have no objection in the film.
Earlier, Pakistan had deferred from screening the Sanjay Gupta film Shootout At Wadala.
