Ranbir Kapoor performs his Barfi! steps at the announcement of Colors Screen Awards 2013.
Ranbir Kapoor is on a roll. Having won the Best Actor award for Barfi! (2012) at every award function, he is on cloud nine. Looking forward to his upcoming projects, he discusses his choice of films and what the audiences can expect in 2013. On Bombay Velvet:  It’s a
hardcore commercial film unlike what people think. When I did Barfi! people asked me why I was playing the role of a deaf-mute guy so early in my career. When I sign films, I don’t think whether it’s an experimental film or a dark one but I want to prove something. I sign a film if I like it and hope that the audiences will like it too. I work in films that I can connect with. If an XYZ superstar is doing a certain kind of film and it makes R200 cr, that doesn’t necessarily mean that if I do it, it will do well too.

RanbirOn Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani:  It’s a love story about an interesting guy who is bit detached. It’s about finding your true bearings in life. We all want to achieve a lot and we are ambitious, focussing on our careers, travel and selfishly wanting to do a lot but what really matters is our relationships with people. We don’t pay much attention to that and Yeh Jawani… talks about it. Happiness is real when there’s
someone special to share it with.

On his Kishore Kumar biopic:  I’ll take time out for it. It’s my duty as an actor that if I am playing such a legendary actor on-screen, I should fully prepare for it. I won’t be singing, so don’t worry (laughs). I will try to look and act like Kishore and emulate certain mannerisms and nuances like him. But the script isn’t ready yet.

Being a part of the Kapoor clan, acting runs in Ranbir's blood and he has taken forward his family's legacy with élan. Ranbir is a true performer and till date hasn't been criticised for his acting skills in a single film.
