Earlier this year, we reported that Irrfan was signed for the film Fanne Khan, to be directed by Shivam Nair. The movie was to be a rustic romantic comedy set in Lucknow. However, things have changed since then. If sources are to be believed, Irrfan will not play the lead role now. A source says,
“Irrfan was kicked about the project. But he has a packed schedule. He was on board earlier, but date issues have come up now. So he may not be able to do it.”

The film, which will go on floors in March, may now have actor Randeep Hooda take Irrfan’s place. The source adds, “They needed someone who would have a rustic feel to them. As of now, Randeep fits the bill perfectly well. He’s yet to sign the dotted line, so let’s see what happens.”

The makers of the film remained unavailable for a comment.
