Pretty Rani Mukerji in a white sari.
It’s a well-known fact that Rani Mukerji is taking keen interest in the marketing strategies of her upcoming film, Aiyya. And now, sources reveal that the Black (2005) actor, along with the film’s marketing team, has decided to launch the film’s theatrical trailer at Plaza theatre in Dadar
today.

“Aiyya is the story of a middle-class Marathi family in which Rani plays a pucca (complete) Maharashtrian. So she and the marketing team didn’t want to hold a press conference in the usual places like a five-star hotel hall or at a glitzy multiplex. That’s when they hit upon the idea of launching it at Plaza, because the feel of the theatre and the area surrounding it is completely Marathi,” says an insider from the film’s publicity team. “After a long time, Aiyya will highlight Marathi traditions and culture on-screen. That’s why they wanted to start off on a new and authentic note. And Dadar, as we all know, is a Maharashtrian-dominated area.”

Interestingly, National Award-winning Marathi director Sachin Kundalkar has helmed this film. When contacted, Aiyya producer Anurag Kashyap confirms, “It’s true that we are launching the theatrical trailer today at the iconic Plaza theatre.”

Meanwhile, Rani has brought forward the film’s release from October 12 to October 24. Being superstitious, the actor believes that the number 3 is lucky for her as her date of birth, March 21, adds up to the number 3.
