Senior actor Reena Roy, who was last seen in Refugee (2000), was reportedly making her comeback with Bengali director Agnidev Chatterjee’s untitled next. But now, it looks as if that won’t be happening since she has been unavailable to meet with makers for a long time.
Agnidev was keen to have Reena in the lead role of his film and even received a verbal confirmation from her. But when it came to signing the movie, the actor remained unavailable. “We are unable to trace her. She isn’t in the country I think, and her phones are switched off as well. Now we will have to change the plan,” says Agnidev.
A source close to the director reveals that he is has already started hunting for a replacement. “He is already in talks with actors like Rati Agnihotri, Hema Malini and Padmini Kolhapure, but is yet to finalise any one of them,” says the source. Ask Agnidev about this development, and he says, “We are still looking. On Monday (August 19) we will be in a position to give you a clearer picture.”
