Salman Khan's next, to be directed by brother Sohail Khan would now reportedly be called Azaad. The other name which was doing the rounds was Jai Ho.
The film is the remake of Chiranjeevi's Telugu hit Stalin, directed by Ghajini director AR Murugadoss. The movie is all set to release on Republic Day next year.
About the film
The movie is a satirical take on the society of today. “The film isn’t a pure satire like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983). But it does mix up Salman’s forte — action and comedy — with several moments of satirical humour,” a trade insider told Hindustan Times. Stalin’s storyline was about a man’s mission to help others and the make the world a better place.
“Neither Salman nor Sohail want to make it a preachy film. It’s going to be high on entertainment like all of Salman’s other films,” adds the insider.
The film also stars newcomer Daisy Shah and Sanaa Khan with Tabu and Mukul Dev. The film, in all likelihood, will hit theatres towards the end of this year or early next year.
