For young actors, a word of appreciation from a reigning superstar such as Shah Rukh Khan can mean the world. And it looks like that’s exactly what has happened for the four young actors of the upcoming film, Fukrey. The film has been co-produced by SRK’s filmmaker friend Farhan Akhtar (they worked together in the Don series).
Shah Rukh watched the film on Sunday at a private theatre in Bandra. And he immediately liked it. “It was great to see Shah Rukh attending the screening. He was very impressed with the film and the performances of the young actors,” says an insider.
So much so, that Shah Rukh has decided to invite all the four actors — Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Ali Fazal and Pankaj Tripathi — for a special dinner at his sea-facing home, Mannat. “Since SRK is from Delhi, where the film is set, he enjoyed it a lot, especially its local lingo and mannerisms. Plus, the film has actors like Pulkit and Manjot, who also belong to the capital,” adds the insider.
When contacted, Manjot confirms the news, saying, “We all felt great that Shah Rukh sir has appreciated us. He really liked our performances and congratulated Richa (Chadda) too. It was gracious of him to invite us to his home.”
Produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment banner, Chennai Express is slated for theatrical release on August 8, 2013.
