And while his star friends were missing at the do (except Farah Khan), Canada-based Indian filmmaker Mira Nair was
spotted at the party Shah Rukh threw at Mannat. "Mira was in town, but we were stunned to see her at the party," says a source.
Buzz is that the director is set to make a film called Bengali Detective and is in town to scout for actors. "Shah Rukh was spotted having a long and intense chat with the filmmaker," adds the insider. This led to speculations that Mira might be trying to sign him for the project. Detective films seem to be the flavour of the season.
Late Bengali director Rituparno Ghosh’s film, Satyanweshi, and Dibakar Banerjee’s next are also detective stories, both based on author Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s detective character Byomkesh Bakshi.
The bash was held for the cast and crew of Chennai Express and members of the production houses involved with it. The source adds, "SRK was a fantastic host and attended to each and everyone. He even clicked picture with the media that was present to cover the party."
