A sequel to the 2008 hit Race, Race 2 has been in the news ever since its announcement. “The audience should expect Race 2 to be a much bigger and better film than the original,” says producer Ramesh Taurani. According to creative producer Jay Shewakramani, “The twists and turns and the style
quotient of Race 2 is a notch higher. It is a perfect sequel.”

The plot
Although the plot of Race 2 has been kept closely guarded, the thriller has been shot in lush, exotic locations with the backdrop of gambling and casinos. ‘Action over thrill’ seems to be the mantra of the film.

Director’s cut
Abbas-Mustan, the director duo of Race 2, reveal  things no one knew about the film
What makes Race 2 a sequel in the true sense is that it begins from the very same point where Race ends.
The lines ‘Allah duhai hai’ from the title track of Race, have been retained in the title track of Race 2.
The film has been shot in Turkey and Northern Cyprus as the makers wanted a rustic look for the film.
Unlike in the first part, Race 2 does not revolve around brothers’ rivalry.

Gossip box
Sonakshi Sinha was the original choice for the film but she quit and was replaced by Jacqueline.
Kareena Kapoor turned down the role opposite Saif as she didn’t want her pairing with him to get repetitive.
Deepika Padukone, who walked out of Race 2 after shooting for six days, was called “unethical” by Producer Ramesh Taurani. Later, both reached a settlement.
Special trainers were called from Vietnam to train Saif and Jacqueline for a sword-fencing sequence.

Today’s pick

She shot to fame even before she was seen on screen. Sonakshi Sinha didn't make headlines just because she was film star Shatrughan Sinha's daughter but also because she made her debut cast was opposite Bollywood biggie Salman Khan in the blockbuster hit Dabangg.
