Tough luck Shahid! Bollywood's newest 'it' girl Sonam Kapoor has refused to kiss Shahid Kapoor in their upcoming movie, Mausam. Sonam was appalled when she was asked to do so at the last minute during an outdoor shoot.

Buzz is that it was Shahid Kapoor's idea to include a lip lock in the first place. Sonam was competely caught unawares because there was no mention of a kissing scene when she signed the film.

A source told Mid-Day, "Sonam was taken aback when the director (and co-star Shahid's dad Pankaj) told her about it. She flatly refused."

Interestingly, Shahid Kapoor asked director dad Pankaj Kapoor to add a kissing scene in the film. Apparently, he wants to kiss all his co-stars ala Aamir Khan.

Shahid had locked lips with Kareena Kapoor in Jab We Met, Priyanka Chopra in Kaminey and more recently Anushka Sharma in Badmaash Company.

The source told the tabloid, "It was at Shahid's behest that a kissing scene was created. He put forth the idea to his father who complied with his request. He felt it would add more passion to the scene."

When Sonam flatly refused to comply to Pankaj Kapoor's repeated requests, Kapoor Sr. called Sonam dad Anil Kapoor to salvage the situation but Sonam was adamant.

Sonam, however maintained that there was no kissing scene in Mausam and the news was complete fabrication.

But the source clarifies, "When Sonam realised that it was her hero's demand, she became even more adamant about not doing the kiss and was in no mood to listen to anyone on the subject." 

Incidentally, Sonam and Abhay Deol have locked lips in her home production Aisha which releases this week. In fact, Abhay couldn't stop raving about how good a kisser Sonam is.

We wonder what made Sonam refuse Shahid's proposal.
