Actress Sridevi, who has been chosen for Padma Shri award this year, says she feels humbled to receive the honour.

"I am honoured and humbled by the recognition. I would like to thank my fans for all the love and support they have given me," she said in a statement

Sridevi made her comeback after a gap of 15 years with 'English Vinglish', which released in October last year.

The film, directed by debutante Gauri Shinde, saw the versatile actor playing the role of a simple housewife and her aspiration and struggle to learn English.

Sridevi entered cinema as a child artiste in Tamil film 'Kandan Karunai' in 1967. She came to Bollywood first as a child artiste in 1975 with 'Julie' and her first adult role was in 'Solva Sawan'.

Thereafter, there was no looking back for Sridevi. She gave memorable performances in films like 'Sadma', 'Mr India', 'Chandni', 'Chaalbaaz', 'Lamhe', 'Khuda Gawah' and 'Judaai', among others.
