Karan Johar's directorial venture Student Of The Year is going great guns at the box-office. The film featuring newcomers Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan collected Rs. 28.5 crore over the weekend and has fetched a total of Rs. 32.25 crore so far.
"The movie had a pretty good
weekend of 28.5 Crores and now stands at a domestic box office total of 32.25 Crores. For a movie with all newbies this is nothing short of an achievement. Needless to say Karan Johar has struck the right chords yet again," reports koimoi.com.
"Taking a look at the overseas collection, the movie has opened to a fair box office out there with 5.50 Crores as of now," added the website.
The film had opened to positive response- both from critics and audience.
CRITICS' TAKE
KJo's Student Of The Year predictable, but entertaining
Karan Johar’s direction is very good but flounders with the script. Alia is effortless and a natural in her performance. Both Sidharth and Varun are talented, confident and hardly look like first-time actors, say critics. READ REVIEWS
