After the trailer of Kai Po Che! released on the net, Sushant Singh Rajput, along with co-stars Raj Kumar Yadav and Amit Sadh, started getting offers to perform at New Year bashes.
An insider says they were offered Rs 2 crore, but producers UTV Motion Pictures barred them from performing."The makers believed it was too far ahead of the film's release for the cast to make a big public appearance," says the source.
The music of the film, composed by Amit Trivedi, has also not released yet. "So Sushant would have had to perform to songs from other films," says the source.
When contacted, Shikha Kapur, executive director marketing, Studios Disney UTV, says, "We are very happy with the response to the trailer, and we did receive a few co-promotion queries, but we will not pursue them because that's not the direction of our marketing campaign."
The film is set to hit theatres on February 22.
