Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah is glad that Bollywood has finally admitted to an overdose of remakes. “Remakes that they (Bollywood filmmakers) are attempting ... they are finally admitting that they are doing nothing but remaking the same old movies again and again. First, they were not accepting it but now they are admitting it,” said the actor on a visit to the Capital.

The 63-year-old, who is known for his versatility and has been a part of films such as The Dirty Picture (2011), Ishqiya (2010), A Wednesday! (2008) and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003) through his four-decade career in Bollywood, said the industry has changed much in all these years. “The budgets are bigger these days, the film promotions are mind-wrecking and the collections are greater.”

The box-office figures are, however, no measure of how good a movie really is, he hints when asked about the R100-200crore club trend. “They (these figures) only reflect the mindset that the film industry has always had. They are only more open talking about it (the big money) now.”
