It’s common for filmmakers to announce sequels after the first films do well at the box-office. However, planning a second sequel even before the first’s release is unusual. But Ashok Thakeria and Indra Kumar, producer-director duo of Dhamaal are so enthused about the first sequel of
Dhamaal called Double Dhamaal that they’ve already planned a third. It is learnt that Kangna Ranaut and Mallika Sherawat will feature again with the five actors — Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Ashish Chowdhry and Javed Jaffery.

A unit member from the film revealed that Sanjay suggested the idea. “There can be no Dhamaal without Sanju’s character, Kabir. In the sequel, he’s a big businessman. So when he suggested taking the franchisee further, the producers agreed. They said they would get their writing team to start ideating so they can announce it soon after Double Dhamaal,” says our informer, adding that the second sequel will be called Total Dhamaal, which will take off from where Double Dhamaal ends, similar to how Double Dhamaal will take off from where Dhamaal ended. The first promo of the film, which will go on air this month, features Kabir admitting his con.

SanjayThakeria, who’s producing Double Dhamaal with Reliance Entertainment, was surprised that the news was out. “The plan is on. We wanted to announce Total Dhamaal after Double Dhamaal releases on June 24. We’re very happy with the response the promo got, which is just a rough cut. Nonetheless, we’re excited by the feedback and are looking forward to taking the Dhamaal franchisee ahead.”
