Shah Rukh Khan’s recent film, Chennai Express, is doing brisk business at the box office. So, as a treat for his fans, this Raksha Bandhan, Shah Rukh, along with the production team, has decided to give one additional ticket free to anyone who buys two.
The offer will be valid at every theatre screening the film on the festive day across the country. “It was Shah Rukh’s idea to celebrate the festival in a bigger way and the production house happily agreed,” says a source, adding, “The producers usually stick to a few theatres in major cities when it comes to such deals, but Shah Rukh wanted the entire country to be able to avail of this offer that will last for 24 hours.”
Gaurav Verma, director-India Theatrical Distribution, Studios, Disney-UTV, confirms the news, saying, “We wanted to thank our audiences for their support, and we thought the occasion of Raksha Bandhan would be an ideal opportunity for us to do so. As a token of our appreciation, we are inviting everyone to celebrate the festival with this offer.”
The Shah Rukh-Deepika Padukone starrer has so far crossed Rs 181 cr at the box office. Trade experts feel it will touch RS 200 cr by this weekend.
