Zila Ghaziabad starring Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Dutt, Minisha Lamba, Ravi Kissen and Vivek Oberoi, took a four-hour break from their shoot schedule this weekend to express solidarity with the recent Anna Hazare’s cause. The idea started with Warsi, who was feeling disappointed at not being able to join Anna’s demonstration in Delhi and Mumbai.
So Arshad suggested that the unit should do something on location to show their support.
The producer Vinod Bachchan and the other actors like Charmee, Vivek and Ravi Kissen also agreed to take a four-hour break from the shoot to offer support. About 250 villlagers also joined the cast and crew in the grounds of the farmhouse where the unit is shooting in Wai.
Says Bachchan, “We all felt we wanted to do something to express our support for Anna’s efforts. The idea came from Arshad bhai, and we thought it was a great suggestion. Everyone from the village joined in.”
Minissha LambaThe parades that used to be organised at my school and college are still my fondest memory of the day. Flag hoisting used to feel me with pride. I used to watch patriotic films.Quote credit: HT City
