Actor Vivek Oberoi’s parents, Suresh and Yashodara, are elated that their son has found his match in Priyanka Alva, who he plans to wed later this year. Overjoyed at Vivek’s union with the 28-year-old, a beaming Suresh Oberoi said, “It is a very big day for us and we are extremely happy to see our son settle down. Priyanka for sure is the ideal girl for Vivek and we couldn’t be happier at her inclusion into the Oberoi family,” he said.

Even Vivek’s mother is elated and thankful to God that her son, who’s often been known as Bollywood’s punching bag, has found the love of his life. “I am happy we have found someone as gracious as Priyanka who is a perfect blend of traditional values and modern thinking,” she said.

Priyanka was chosen by Vivek’s parents after much deliberation. The actor took his time before saying ‘yes’ to his parents’ choice.

Oberoi, meanwhile, is out of Mumbai and will only speak with media after he returns. He recently wrapped up shooting for filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s Rakta Charitra.

Issuing a statement on the actor’s behalf, his publicist, Gauri Malhotra, said, “He (Vivek) is elated! Overjoyed with the new developments in his life... 2010, his 8th year in Bollywood, has certainly taken things upwards in his career and personal life. He thanks everyone for all the love, support and good wishes. One of the most eligible bachelors will be hitched soon.”
