2010 saw her once again appearing alongside Riteish Deshmukh in romcom Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai which was another dud. She turned item girl in Sajid Khan's Housefull in song Dhanno which was a big success. Fernandez almost gave up acting because no good roles were coming to her.
In 2012, she bounced back with a bang in Mahesh Bhatt's thriller Murder 2, which went on to become her first box office success. She got intimate with Emraan Hashmi and looked sizzling hot in the film.
Post Murder 2 success, Fernandez turned down Raaz 3D offer to avoid being type cast as a sex symbol. She also turned down a role in Krrish 3 due to date conflicts.

LIST OF AWARDS

On Race 2 prep: "In movies, action sequences performed by women require different training and techniques since they can’t train like guys. For women, it's important to maintain flexibility and agility, along with a lot of fluidity. I am a trained gymnast. And now, in a way, I have gotten back to it. I am looking to do a lot of my own stunts, so I am working on different techniques. For example, I have been training in capoeira (the Brazilian martial arts). And I love it since it’s got a lot to do with dance. I have been doing a lot of flips too, besides yoga, that has been helping me a lot."
On opting out of Krissh 3: "It was an unfortunate clash of dates. I had to make the decision and both parties involved tried hard to make it work, but it didn’t happen. It’s my bad luck due to which I couldn’t do Krrish 3."
On turning down Raaz 3: "Unfortunately, you tend to get stereotyped in the industry and that was the major concern for me. When Murder 2 released, there were a lot of offers coming my way...when we got into the later stages of finalisation of Raaz 3, I just was not comfortable. I felt I have done it in Murder 2, so it’s time to move on."
On setting her limits: "I am not closed to kissing scenes or wearing skimpy clothes. But, it should not be forced into the movie, just for the heck of it. The role or the dresses should not make me feel uncomfortable. I have definitely set limitations on what is acceptable to me...if the lip-lock or a certain dressing style is central to the script and character, then I am open to doing it. Lot of movies have sex scenes these days that look like they have been forced, and it makes you cringe when you see them. I don’t want that to be the case when someone is watching my movie."
On Bollywood: "At the end of the day you are an outsider and it doesn't help you much when you don't even belong to the country. You can't imagine how it feels for a young woman to come back to an empty apartment, be all lonely and face her demons. The city starts seeming far more alien while the sheer unpredictability of Bollywood as an industry starts intimidating you."
On shooting steamy scenes: "I’m comfortable about my body. I have no qualms in flaunting what I have. Also, I play a seductress in the movie (Murder 2), so I had to flaunt my body."
On working with the Khans: "I want to work with all three of them — Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir. This is surely one of the top things on my agenda."
On comparisons with Mallika: "I loved Mallika Sherawat in Murder. But Murder 2 is different. It is about a series of murders unlike Murder, that dealt with extra-marital affair primarily."
On her favourite actor: "I aspire to be like Aishwarya Rai for her elegance and poise. One actor I would like to pair up with would be Abhay Deol. He is very talented and I personally like his work a lot."
