Models display creations as part of the Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2010 men's collection during Milan Fashion Week.
Step aside catwalkers — male models are here. With the first menswear fashion week in the Capital due next week, male models are hogging the limelight. Thirty-two men, including 17 fresh faces, will strut designer ensembles during the Van Heusen India Mens Week (VHIMW) that takes place from
September 11-13 at The Grand, Vasant Kunj.

The event positions India as the fourth fashion capital in the world to host a mens’ week. Among the established models, Acquin Pais, Amit Sandhu, Angad Bedi, Lalit Tehlan, Namit Khanna, Sahil Shroff and Tony Luke will flaunt their moves on the runway. While Inder Bajwa, Lalit Tehlan and Sahil Shroff have walked for Indian designers like Rohit Bal and Rajvi Mohan, those like Acquin Pais have also sashayed down international ramps for names like Tommy Hilfiger, Diesel and Ralph Lauren.

Heritage pieces Van Heusen will also be launching a special line of shirts called the heritage menswear line at the event. Says Shital Mehta of Van Heusen, “Part of the line will be on display during the fashion week, which will then be retailed from stores across the country.” The line will be priced at Rs. 4,000 and above.
