Just when you thought you’re done with your anarkali fixation, B-town divas have made it fashion’s biggest crush! The modernised version of the traditional Mughal garment is so long, it almost grazes the floor, and you don’t see the churidaar paired with it.

Madhuri Dixit wore a  pink
Manish Malhotra full length anarkali at the People’s Choice Awards in Mumbai last week.  Aishwarya Rai too wore a white Abu Sandeep anarkali at pop-in-law Amitabh Bachchan’s 70th birthday bash recently.

Sonakshi Sinha, too, rocked an ink blue Manish Malhotra anarkali at the same bash, while Parineeti Chopra wore a brown anarkali dress. Style gurus say their pick is a winner. “The full length anarkali is a modern take on the traditional garment. If you are wearing an opaque anarkali, you may want to ditch the churidars,” says designer Rina Dhaka.

Full length anarkalis have caught the fancy of brides too this wedding season. “I am designing a lot of floor length anarkalis for
brides who want to look different,” says designer Gautam Gupta.

If you too want to rock the look, don’t make it over-the-top. “Avoid too much bling and wear minimum jewellery,” advises designer Kapil Arora.
