Indian mythology has been penned into many a comic books. But now you have the chance to wear these tales on your sleeve, too. At the Delhi Comic Con that is set to take place this weekend, graphic novel aficionados will also be able to get their hands on T-shirts designed around Vimanika Comics’ characters such as Karna, Parshuram andz Shiva. The designs, incidentally, were voted for on and selected via a four-day poll on the popular social networking site Facebook.

“Merchandising is something that is a part of our profile. And we feel that even people who are not into comics can possibly buy or may want to buy such T-shirts. This way we are able to reach a larger audience,” says Karan Vir Arora, founder of Vimanika Comics, adding that popular characters from Vimanika’s graphic novel series were selected and four-five options for each character were chosen and put on Facebook. Fans then picked the option they liked the most. The designs that got the highest number of votes will now be available for purchase. Fans from the earlier Comic Con had also been asked to give tag lines as a part of a contest. The winner’s tag is now seen on the T-shirt.

The T-shirts which are based on Indian mythology will cost anywhere between R299 and R350 and are available in the small, medium, large and extra large sizes. While the initial line features designs only in black and white, the company will soon be experimenting with designs in red, yellow and green too.
