High on style, with equal emphasis given to wearability creations, the second day of Van Heusen India Men’s Week witnessed a lot of good stuff for men. ANKY by Anjana and Ankita Bhargav and their crispy, well-engineered creations showed that one doesn’t have to be outlandish to display creativity. Vijay Arora, on the other hand, came out with a surprise when he deviated from his usual, Indian wear, to present a collection inspired by the armed forces. He had caps, boots, insignias and medallions and his jodhpuri fatigues were interesting to note.

Bangalore-based Manoviraj Khosla first threw in a splash of colours on the otherwise staid colour palette for men with sports jackets. His coat with zipper side vents and front closure was an interesting innovation. Plenty of shorts made appearances as well.

Not many designers in India play with the lengths of jackets. Varun Bahl-Karan Johar, the collection that Varun designed this time had almost every jacket that was longer. Sketches of New York life in some, low crotch trousers and shorts, suits, jackets et al had what it needed in terms of style.

Cue by Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna, at the end of the day, showed that even monochromatic palette, if handled well, can be interesting. Again, extended crotches on trousers and shorts, interesting jackets and shirts showing tailoring and deconstruction, the duo made sure that their position as the crowd’s favorite is retained!
