A high ponytail hair do sported by Kareena Kapoor or the poker straight baby doll style of Katrina Kaif can be safely kept aside for the sports-hall or relaxation time say hair experts who suggest voluminous styles to compliment body structures this winter. “Today with most people
leading busy professional lifestyles, what we are looking at is ‘wash and go’ hair. With very little time available for grooming, people prefer care-free curls and a tossed look. It is a very soft look and in look,” says noted hairstylist Jawed Habib. For women, the evergreen classic look is to wear their tresses in the poker straight style but the trend this winter seems to have evolved towards volume, movement and curls — almost like perfectly imperfect hair.

Mumbai-based hair stylist Sylvia Chen says, “Long hair with curls to it give an unfinished feel to it producing more volume.” She suggests fringes and side partings for long hair while rooting for the chic long bob look for short hair.

“Do not be resistant to change. Go for bohemian curls, partial crimped hair, fringes or add a few highlights for a fuller look,” says Chen who has styled Bollywood actor Mugdha Godse.

“Short hair are a complete no-no for winters. People opting for a bob cut are going for long bobs like Bipasha Basu,” she says. Nisarg Mavani, a hairstylist from Mumbai says. “This season is all about the bouncy look portraying a woman’s carefree attitude. Hair colouring with tropical colours is back in trend.”
