The actor was to visit India to promote his next release, Escape Plan, which is releasing this month. "Arnold had
requested the international studio to promote the film in India for three days. But now, the trip, which was scheduled to begin on October 15, post the Navratri celebrations, has been canceled," says an insider close to the Indian distributors of the film.
This would have been The Terminator (1984) actor’s second visit to the country after he made a trip to Delhi last year, to attend an environmental conference. “Arnold was all set to come to Mumbai and Delhi for the movie’s promotions, but due to the last-minute launch of his own line of fitness products and the date of commitments for the promotions of Escape Plan in the US, he had to cancel it,” says the source.
However the actor is optimistic that he will be in India soon. In a press conference held in the US, Arnold is believed to have that said that he is keen to return to India in the future.
Escape Plan is an action thriller which also stars action hero Sylvester Stallone.
Khali could have been part of the film
Escape Plan could have been an opportunity for Khali, the Indian wrestler, to share screen space with two of Hollywood’s most popular action heroes. Reportedly, Sylvestar Stallon had recommended his name for an important role in the film.
But Khali couldn’t accept the offer because of his contract with the World Wrestling Entertainment that prohibits him from taking up film projects.
