Aishwarya, Bipasha to attend Cannes red carpet

Big names from Bollywood will mark their presence at the 65th Cannes International Film Festival, scheduled to be held in France from May 16 to 27. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Freida Pinto, and Arjun Rampal are some of the Indian stars who will scorch the red carpet at the film

festival.

Aishwarya, who has been attending the festival since 2002, will attend as the global face of a beauty brand and what’s more, she may take her five-month-old daughter Aaradhya along.

Sonam, who also attended the festival last year, will make an appearance again. “Yes, Sonam will be going to Cannes. We will get the details in a couple of days and then lock the dates. She is not going for a film but for a beauty brand she endorses,” says her spokesperson.

Hollywood star Freida Pinto will also walk the red carpet at the festival. Rampal, who is the ambassador of the liquor brand that is the official partner of the event, will also attend the festival, accompanied by designer Rohit Bal. Filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee may also fly to France to showcase his movie Shanghai, starring Abhay Deol and Emraan Hashmi.

However, actor Bipasha Basu, who was to attend the festival for her upcoming film Singularity, has denied that she is attending.

Filmmakers Madhur Bhandarkar and Vikram Bhatt, who were expected to take their films Heroine and Dangerous Ishq respectively, have also denied any plans of being there.
