We all know how famous Angelina Jolie's leg is (after all it has a Twitter handle of its own and quite a following too). Here's ...
Wearing leather horns, prosthetic cheek bones and yellow contacts, Angelina Jolie impresses in her latest outing as an evil sorceress. The film explores the origins of Maleficent and events that led her to curse Princess Aurora to sleep in the classic story of Sleeping Beauty.
Looks like Jolie's inspired by pop icon Lady Gaga, who sported prosthetic cheek bones for the cover of her album Born This Way.
Angelina Jolie told Entertainment Weekly: "It's not anti-princess, but it's the first time they're looking at this epic woman. I hope in the end you see a woman who is capable of being many things and just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn't mean she can't have other qualities."
According to the popular fairytale, Maleficent is the self-proclaimed mistress of all evil who, after not being invited to the baby's christening, curses infant Princess Aurora to prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday.
The film's team includes producer Joe Roth (Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, Oz the Great and Powerful), screenwriter Linda Woolverton (Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King) and Oscar winning production designer Robert Stromberg (Avatar, Alice in Wonderland), who will make his directorial debut.
The US release date for the live-action film is March 14, 2014.
