Julia Roberts' recently released movie Eat Pray Love has been criticised by Catholic church leaders for ignoring the importance of faith. Catholic News Service officials, Washington, are disappointed with the adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert's bestselling travel memoir. According
to them, Roberts has failed to seek spiritual guidance during the 'Eat' section of the movie, reports contactmusic.com.

Julia RobertsA review of the film written by CNS' John Muldering reads, "Though she (Roberts' character) seemingly hits every restaurant in town, she gives the churches a pass, the implication being that she knows better than to look to Catholicism for insight."

The news service has given the movie an 'L' classification, suggesting the film may trouble some devout Catholics with "content many adults would find troubling".

To make matters worse for Catholics, Roberts, who grew up a Catholic, has recently started practising Hinduism after spending time in an ashram while filming the 'Pray' section of the movie in India.

"I'm definitely a practising Hindu," Roberts said earlier.
