After winning critical acclaim for playing the younger version of the supervillain Magneto in the film, X Men: First Class, which was a prequel to the popular X Men film series, actor Michael Fassbender is excited about his latest flick — Prometheus, which released yesterday.
Directed by filmmaker Ridley Scott, the film, which has been called as a loose prequel to the hit Alien series, stars Fassbender as an android called David.
Explaining his role in the film, the 35-year-old actor says, “He’s an android, but like a butler. He doesn’t think about people’s suffering that much. He has an empathy and he’s developed that. But he’s more curious, like a child burning ants with a magnifying glass.”
As for the connection of Prometheus to the Alien cinematic universe, Fassbender says, “There’s a connection to Alien. It’s a totally different world in this film that we’re introduced to, that runs parallel with it (the Alien world). One word I would use to describe it is intelligent.”
