Actor Rahul Bose, who has acted in filmmaker Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children which releases today, says even though he has a small but significant role in the film, it cannot be called a landmark role in his career.

“If I had a big role in this film, then it would’ve been an important moment for my career but I have a small role in this film. It’s a significant and beautiful role... Moreover, this is my 20th year in the industry, so the time has gone that any role will make me identifiable or will break identity,” says the 45-year-old.
Bose recalls how long time back, he was author Salman Rushdie’s first choice for a mini series that was to be made on the book, which makes his association with the film all the more special.

“Fifteen years ago, when the mini series of Midnight’s Children was being made in five parts, out of 142 actors Salman chose me. So, to be part of the close circle of the film, I consider it to be a great pleasure,” he says.
The film also features Satya Bhabha, Shriya Saran, Siddharth, Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Seema Biswas, Shahana Goswami, Soha Ali Khan and Darsheel Safary.
