Star Trek Into Darkness by director J.J. Abrams premieres in Los Angeles.
J.J. Abrams, director and producer of, Star Trek : Into Darkness
"For this film, we wanted to do a stand alone movie, something like you didn't have to see the first film, you never had to see the original series. I was never a big Star Trek fan in my life. The idea was to do something that was a huge, big, fun action adventure, a big spectacle but with real emotion, real passion, real heart, and just a connection to the characters."

Zachary Quinto , actor playing Spock:
"I love this cast, it's a great group of people, great sense of humor, but also commitment to the work. Really wonderful."
Zoe Saldana, actress playing Uhura:
"It is literally a rollercoaster ride from beginning to end, the action does not stop. The suspense, it challenges you as well. It is not one of those films that the plot is so easy, that you know how and where it is going to go. You are constantly thinking, wait a minute, is that what they said? Is this what is going on?, because we did on set, every time we were reading the scenes or we would shoot them, it was like, are you kidding me? So what does this really mean?. It was a wonderful experience to shoot, it was a wonderful experience to watch it, and now it is a wonderful experience to be able to share it with everybody else."
