Superstar singer Barbra Streisand returns to film directing after 16 years, to direct the epic love story Skinny And Cat starring Oscar winners Colin Firth and Cate Blanchett.
The Mirror Has Two Faces, Yentl and The Prince Of Tides were the singer's dramatic films, but she's also directed
musical documentaries and acted in a line of films, most recently the Fockers series.
The story tells of the romance and short marriage of author Erskine Caldwell and photojournalist Margaret Bourke-White and their professional book collaborations, such as You Have Seen Their Faces.
Colin Firth (The King's Speech) and Cate Blanchett (The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button) are set to star as the couple.
Streisand stars in The Guilt Trip with Seth Rogen this December, about an inventor and his mother on a road trip. She also has planned to star in Gypsy on Broadway with a screenplay by Julian Fellowes (Downton Abbey).
Firth, last seen in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, will star in the Coen brothers' crime comedy Gambit with Cameron Diaz and Alan Rickman, due out in the fall, and is currently filming The Railway Man with Nicole Kidman.
Blanchett, who last appeared in Hanna and Robin Hood, will star in The Hobbit as Galadriel and also stars in Knight Of Cups, a new film from Terrence Malick (The Tree Of Life) with Christian Bale and Natalie Portman.
