Hollywood stars gathered at the premiere night of the movie, The Descendants at the Samuel Goldwyn theatre in Beverly Hills, California.

Alexander Payne's The Descendants bagged the Golden Globe award in the best motion picture - drama category.

The movie, about a land baron who tries to reconnect with his two daughters after his wife suffers a boating accident, features George Clooney, Judy Greer, Shailene Woodley and
Amara Miller.

It pipped other nominations in the category - The Help, Hugo, The Ides Of March, Moneyball and War Horse.
