The story follows Bradley Cooper's character, a former teacher and eternal optimist who has spent four years in a mental
institution and moves in with his parents. While trying to reconcile with his wife, he develops a relationship with a neighbor, played by Lawrence, who also suffers from mental illness.
Adapted by director David O. Russell (The Fighter) from the best-selling novel by Matthew Quick, its title refers to the cliché expression "every cloud has a silver lining." The footage of this poignant comedy about love and second chances shows the characters' challenges in navigating life and each other.
Silver Linings Playbook opens on November 21 in North America and the UK, followed by Australia, and then European markets in early 2013.
