Beautifully decked up markets of the city make for one of the biggest attractions of Diwali every year. Although mostly over-crowded, these markets have great festive shopping options. From designer diyas and crackers to fancy lights, the markets are flooded with festive items. “We are visited by
hundreds of people during Diwali season,” says Kishori Lal, a shopkeeper at Sadar Bazaar.

The price varies widely, so fierce bargaining skills are a must. Bringing a sense of freshness to the range of decor items are Rajasthani gel candles, lanterns and led candles. “Diwali is incomplete without candles and diyas. Though the variety increases each year, rangoli and clay diyas remain one of the bestselling items,” says Ram Manohar, another shopkeeper. Other hit items are fancy lights, rangoli design patterns and wall hangings.
