Popular classical vocalist Pandit Pohankar will present some khayals and thumris on day two, along with Tikekar, who is known for her renditions of various genres across gharanas. “I’m very excited as I’ll be part of the gathering after many years. I’m especially excited about performing with Pandit Jasrajji,” says Pohankar.
The highlight of this day will be S Akash, a 14-year-old flautist from Bengaluru, who’s becoming increasingly popular in the Indian classical music circuit. The final day will feature a vocal recital by Milind Chittal, followed by a santoor performance by Pandit Vyas.
Talking about the event, Pandit Vyas says, “It was started by my father, the late Pandit CR Vyas, and I’m proud to be a part of it. I’ll be presenting spiritual evening ragas and a few compositions that I’ve learnt from my guru, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma.”
