Norah Jones is an American singer-songwriter.
If 2012 saw many international music acts in India, 2013 will only see more. Big names such as rapper Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion, country singer Norah Jones, rock bands Deep Purple, Limp Bizkit, Anthrax and Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Gotye will take the city by storm in the coming months.
And, they only mark the beginning to perhaps many more.
“Gettin ready 4 my 1st tour of INDIA! 2 my peoples in India. U ready 4 tha Lion! (sic),” tweeted Snoop Lion. He will perform at Huda Grounds, Gurgaon, on January 13. “He is definitely very excited to come here,” says Shom Jagtiani of Indigo Live, the organisers.
On February 6, Australian singer songwriter Gotye will perform at Bluefrog, Delhi. Deep Purple, Limp Bizkit, Anthrax, The Wailers (Bob Marley’s original band) and The Doors (Jim Morrison’s original band) will perform during the FLY Music fest in Gurgaon on February 16 and 17.
And, Norah Jones will perform at Sirifort Auditorium on March 5. She will be supported by M Ward, one half of celebrated indie pop and folk duo She & Him. Fans are thrilled. “What a start! I’ve blocked my dates, and it feels good that India’s big on the music map now,” says Rahul Gambhir, 20.
