On his second visit to India, American singer Richard Marx, though having little knowledge of Indian music, wants to discover it during his tour. "I'm looking forward to be back in India. I really know very little about India and the music. I'm certainly aware of some of the Indian music that got attention in the US, like Cheb Mami, and of course the great music from Slumdog Millionaire. Hopefully I'll discover some artists when I'm there," said Richard Marx.

Marx also admits that he was turned towards Indian music by The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, who introduced him to Indo-American musician Tina Sugandh. "Ringo Starr recently turned me on to Tina Sugandh, who is a talented and beautiful artist. On my previous visit to Mumbai two years back, I found out that many people in India knew my music. So I'm very anxious to come and perform here," he added.

Marx, 46, started his musical journey at the age of 18 and with hits like Right Here Waiting, Now and Forever, and Hazard he became the first solo artist to have his first seven singles hit the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and has sung with the likes of the 'Queen of Pop' Madonna and Kenny Rogers.

"It's better than I ever imagined and worth all the effort. It was basically how I made my living in the early 80s while I was trying to get a record deal. I got to sing on many hits for many different artists, and every session was fun," he said.
