Honey Singh
Rapper Honey Singh has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. The composer, who recently stirred up a controversy with one of his songs, has now lost out on an opportunity due to his public image.

The makers of John Abraham’s next, I, Me Aur Main, have apparently dropped the
idea of getting a song composed by Honey for the film.

A source close to the production unit reveals, “It was supposed to be a party number, but the producers decided to scrap it at the last minute because of the controversies Honey has been embroiled in."

One of his songs recently drew massive criticism for its vulgar lyrics, so the makers didn’t want to risk working with him.” The source goes on to add that since this movie deals with women, adding a song that could be even remotely inappropriate would only hamper its reach among the female audience.

“This film is John’s ode to women. It deals with all the women in his life. As the protagonist, through the movie, he understands the importance of respecting all of them. So naturally, a song with crass lyrics about women would just ruin the perception of the film.”

Ask director Kapil Sharma about this development and he confirms the news, saying, “Yes, we were in talks with Honey Singh, but we eventually dropped the idea. The controversies surrounding him led to this decision. We only wanted a great club song and nothing else.”
