Rock Veda, a progressive fusion band may be one of the several bands in the country playing fusion music, but what sets this group apart is their purpose of creating music.

“We want to create awareness about the power of classical music among youngsters. We thus mix creative contemporary with
classical tunes and ragas and create progressive fusion which is the most preferred genre among  the younger generation of music lovers today,” says Kabul Rishi, the vocalist of the band.

GuitarFormed in 2009, the band has to its credit, several performances, the latest being a gig at the high-profile Jaipur Literature Festival. “I am from Jaipur and it felt amazing to perform there.

There were so many important people who loved our performance,” shares Rishi. However, it was a compliment by lyricist Javed Akhtar that Rishi feels made their performance worth every bit. “Javed sahab told me that he loved our band’s compositions and is looking forward to hear more from us.” The band expects their debut album to be out by the end of this year and the set of young musicians are working hard for it.
