South Korean pop singer Psy, who shot to fame with his single Gangnam Style, is coming to India to perform with actor Salman Khan. The two will put up a gig at the opening ceremony of the upcoming third edition of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), to be held on January 19, 2013.

“The singer is aware of the mass popularity of Salman in India and as he is the captain of the Mumbai team of this T20 cricket league, he is going to share stage with him at the opening ceremony of the event,” says an insider from the organising body.

Salman will be seen performing to Gangnam Style with Psy. “They will also perform to a few of Salman’s own numbers, which he is yet to decide,” says the source.

The organisers are yet to decide on the event venue. “This would be either in Delhi or Mumbai. Talks are on but we are yet to pick the appropriate city. We are checking on where both have the largest mass appeal together,” says the source.

The eight teams at the event are Mumbai Heroes, Bengal Tigers, Chennai Rhinos, Kerala Strikers, Karnataka Bulldozers, Telugu Warriors, Veer Marathi and Bhojpuri Dabbangs.

Gangnam guy courts trouble
It has just come to light that Gangnam Style singer Psy used to rap about “slowly and painfully” killing American soldiers and their families. During an anti-American protest in Seoul in 2002, Psy smashed a model American tank live on stage. The demonstration happened during strong anti-American sentiment in the country after a 50-ton US armoured vehicle killed two 14-year-old South Korean girls on their way to a birthday party. Psy rapped about “killing those f***ing Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives ... Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers,” as the Daily mail quotes him. The singer later issued an apology for his words. (ANI)
