It’s truly a global birthday present for the late King of Pop. As a tribute to Michael Jackson on his birth anniversary today, singer Sonu Niigaam has teamed up with his Facebook fans from across the world to create a song celebrating MJ’s genius.
Niigaam explains, “I asked my Facebook
family for some creative ideas in MJ’s memory. Singers sent demos recorded in different studios. Some came up with lyrics, others auditioned online to sing. Singer Sowmya Raoh joined the selection process. We eventually compiled six songs into one new song.”
Called MJ, This One’s For You, the song has amateur singers from Canada, Chicago, London, Pune and even Pakistan. Says Niigaam, “It’s sheer magic.” The song releases today on iTunes and music forums that offer free downloads.
