If Baba Sehgal’s ode to Mumbai (rather Andheri) didn’t have you talking, here’s another tribute that is sure to go down well, at least with the suburban lot. City hip-hop quartet Microphon3, which last mopped up newsprint with their then topical track ‘I Am Anna’, are out with their latest release, ‘Yari Road’.
For frontman Tanmay Bahulekar, it’s a housewarming gift of sorts. “I’ve spent a lot of time there since I have so many friends in Yari Road. And now, finally, I’m shifting there tomorrow,” he says.
His band also plans to release one track every second week on their Facebook page. “The next is an open song to the Prime Minister,” he says, adding, “There’s another track titled ‘Inga’ with catchy Marathi hooks.”
