One rarely has much expectations from budget phones. But thanks to the ever-developing feature phone market, that notion is slowly changing. It is now possible to get your hands on a decent phone without shelling out much cash. The Nokia Asha 501 is proof of that.

Pros: The phone is elegant looking and compact. It is the right fit for the palm of your hands and is available in several vibrant colours. In terms of looks at least, the series can give several flagship models a run for their money. The touchscreen is intuitive and the interface simple. All social networking apps come pre-loaded and the app library too is pretty decent. One of the things we have always appreciated about Nokia devices is their battery life. This phone too delivers in that department. The phone can go for two days without a recharge and moderate usage.

Cons: The camera isn’t the best in the market and there is no front camera. In terms of customisation, you are limited to the wallpaper and audio. The graphics on the games downloaded aren’t the best that we have seen in the market and the phone also doesn’t recognise MP4 videos.
