Tonight is another big night for actor Aamir Khan. After his November visit to Prime Minister (PM) Manmohan Singh’s 7, Race Course Road residence last year to meet and dine with US President Barack Obama, the actor is set to meet British PM David Cameron in Delhi today. Cameron arrived in Mumbai
on Monday for his three day, trade-focused visit and has flown to the capital today.

Aamir, who is currently shooting in Mandawa in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan (six hours away from Jaipur) for Rajkumar Hirani’s film, P.K, will be flying to the capital for this high-profile meeting.

Sources reveal that Cameron’s team showed an active interest in meeting Aamir because of his growing popularity abroad, especially in the UK.

This was after he was featured on the cover of Time Magazine (including the UK edition) for his contribution to society through his show Satyamev Jayate. The show, says a close source of Aamir, has done well among the expat community in the UK. Issues touched upon by the show, like domestic violence, marital rape and child abuse, subsequently became identifiable for the global community.

The actor’s team and the British PM’s office have been secretly working out their schedules for a couple of months now. Aamir is very happy with the news. When contacted, he confirmed the news.
