Actor Akshay Kumar.
Actor Akshay Kumar, 44, is making sure his nine-year-old son Aarav doesn’t get it all easy just because he is a star kid, and realises the value of things in life.

“I’m making sure he lives the life of a child and not that of any star kid,” the actor says.

Does that mean his child
won’t become an actor like other star children? “Aarav is very young and I’d rather let him do what he wants to do. I’ve never thought that he should become an actor. He should just become what he wants to become. But first, he should enjoy his childhood,” says Kumar.

Speaking of actors, does little Aarav watch his dad’s movies? “He mostly watches Tom and Jerry. I’ve never sat down and asked him about it really, but dekhta to hoga hi (he must be watching them),” says the actor, who will be seen next in the light-hearted flick, Desi Boyz, before returning to action and mainstream drama with movies such as Rowdy Rathore and the sequel to Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai.

“It was deliberate. My fans wanted me to return to action movies and serious cinema. So, here it is,” he says.

On Aarav’s upbringing
I’m making sure he lives the life of a child and not that of any star kid... he should enjoy his childhood before anything else.

On his values for his family

There’s nothing right or wrong in doing anything for the family. And whatever we do in life is all for them and their well-being.
