Bipasha Basu might have turned a year older today, but the actor insists that age is just a number for her. “And honestly, these numbers don’t matter to me much. I have always said that I would love to live till 100, but the journey has to be exciting,” says the 34-year-old who has gone all out
for her birthday this year as she has flown 35 people (including family and friends) to Goa for the celebrations. “I always get excited about my birthday. It’s not just about that one day. I celebrate it throughout the month. It’s the most important day for anyone. I don’t understand when people say, ‘Birthdays are no big deal’. If birthdays are no big deal, then life is also not a big deal,” she says.
Bipasha Basu is comfortable with her sexuality and doesn't mind getting steamy on screen if the scene demands. Here's a look at her boldest B-Town moments.
Although Bipasha refuses to reveal who she is partying with, we found out that her guest-list includes friends like designer Rocky S, fitness trainer Deanne Pandey and her cousins and sisters. However, she does accept that filmmaker-friend Vikram Bhatt was also invited. “But he isn’t really a Goa person,” she says, adding, “My friends keep saying I get as excited as a high-school kid on my birthdays. But I don’t mind that. It’s a compliment.”
Ask her what presents she’s expecting this year and she says jokingly, “I hope I get lots. But the best gift I have given myself is this small break (after launching her workout DVD and shooting for Aatma). At a time when industry is gearing up to get back to work, I am taking a break. But I’ll be back in 10 days.”
Now starring in a ‘creature’ presentation
Last year, they teamed up for Raaz 3. And now, filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and Bipasha Basu are coming together again for what is being touted as India’s first creature film. To be produced by T Series’ Bhushan Kumar, the film has been titled Creature!.
“It will be India’s first ever creature film that will be made on the lines of Predator and Jurassic Park. We will be releasing it in 3D,” says Vikram.
Bhushan adds, “We are happy to announce our next creative collaboration and couldn’t be more excited to be presenting it to Bipasha on her birthday.
The film goes on the floors in May and will be mounted on an international scale.”
Talking about the storyline, Bipasha says, “It will be a completely new experience for me. The film’s treatment is such that it will also test my fitness and strength. I am excited.”
