This New Year’s Eve, we get you the story of 4 bouncers from Capital’s pubs and clubs who will be on duty tonight. While some of us are getting ready to party all night on New Year’s Eve, it’s business time today for these bouncers — who work late in the night to ensure we party safe. We spoke to a few bouncers in the city who will be working till late hours at city’s many pubs and clubs.

I have never had an off on New Year’s Eve for the past seven years. When a company gives you work throughout the year, you can’t refuse to work for them when they need you most. The good thing is that due to high demand on New Year, we get
double salary for the same hours of work. My family is used to me working late nights, so New Year is not very different for them. I prefer to spend some quality time with them the next day.

My family does not know that I work as a bouncer. I have been in this job for the last eight years. They think that I go out to party with my friends on New Year’s Eve but its the other way round. It’s fun to work with friends and even get paid for it. These days security is all about mind over matter. You need a lot of patience and maturity to make sure the party goes on smoothly without a fight.

I am from Rohtak and stay in Gurgaon with friends. Since my family is not here, I don’t mind working on New Year’s Eve for a good amount of money. While we get Rs. 1000-Rs 2000 for a regular party, on New Year’s Eve we get at least Rs. 3000 to Rs. 4000 for eight hours. We also get to see new places and try new food in the process. After the official party gets over at 2am, our fun begins. We hang out together, gorge on delicious food and have fun together.

I got married last year and was really looking forward to ring in the New Year with my wife this time but it would not be possible. For me work is a priority and I am glad that my family is so supportive about it and understands my work commitment. I am planning to spend the next day together with a surprise for my wife to make up for it.
